Meet the Team

Education Connection Advisors is a unique partnership of three professionals with more than 60 years of combined experience working in the field of education. Our individual talents and expertise form an innovative team approach that serves the metropolitan area’s children and their families.

  • Barbara W. Levy, M.Ed. has been in private practice for many years, specializing in school placement, educational counseling, tutoring and SSAT testing. Her experience includes teaching at The Lovett School, serving as a counselor and consultant to a preschool and pediatric practice, directing a parent infant program, teaching college courses in child development, and serving as the executive director of an educational non-profit affiliated with The Westminster Schools. She received a Master of Education in guidance and counseling from the University of Michigan. She is a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association, writes an educational blog, educational workbooks, and children's books.

Barbara
  • Fontaine Draper was Director of Admission at The Lovett School in Atlanta from 1983 to 2001. She has been board member and president of The Secondary School Admission Test Board, chair of the Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools admission organization, and served on the faculty of the National Association of Independent Schools Workshop for Admission Directors. She is the recipient of the William B. Bretnall award for her exemplary contribution to the field of independent school admissions. Fontaine specializes in admission strategy.

  • Betsy Metcalf has spent more than a decade as a teacher, administrator, mentor and coach in various independent schools. A graduate of Episcopal High School and a Jefferson Scholar at the University of Virginia, Betsy began her teaching career at St. Paul's School for Girls in Baltimore, Maryland before returning to Episcopal. Prior to going into private practice, Betsy worked in the Academic Resource Center at The Lovett School. As a partner at Education Connection Advisors, Betsy provides expertise in both boarding and day school placement. She is a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association. Betsy specializes in school culture and curriculum.

  • Margo Yoder has been an administrative assistant for 6 years. Before joining ECA, she worked at Trinity Anglican Church as the kid’s ministry assistant, coordinating volunteers and connecting families. She has four children in the Atlanta Public Schools and has been active in their education from the start. Margo has a desire to see Atlanta’s educational institutions grow in the area of equity for all Atlantans.
