June 2025 Newsletter

We hope this newsletter finds you enjoying a somewhat slower summer pace, whether you’re enjoying vacations or simply a more relaxed pace at home. We know that summer can be a juggle, and an adjustment as routines can shift weekly. Many of us balance our professional responsibilities with having our children home more often. While structure and routine are beneficial, we also invite you to embrace the downtime, and encourage you to create family traditions that encourage a slower lifestyle.

We’ve included below some our recommended summer reads. Please share your recommendations with us!

Why Boarding School?

We are currently taking school placement clients for the upcoming school year and would love to help your family. While many of you know we consult with families on day school placement, you may not realize we also consult on boarding school placement as well.

There are many reasons why a family would consider boarding school for their child. Some of our Atlanta area private schools are K-12 and a student may be ready for a change, socially, academically, and/or athletically. Boarding schools offer structured daily routine and independence, which allows for students to grow in their executive functioning skills and time management. Students mature as they learn to do their own laundry and wake themselves up in the mornings!

In Atlanta, many of us spend a lot of time in our cars, shuttling to and from activities. At boarding school, students can participate in many more extracurricular activities because these all take place on campus. There are also more leadership and character opportunities at boarding schools due to the residential life component.

Students form lifelong friendships and relationships with both students and faculty. The immersive boarding school setting builds strong communities. On these campuses, your child will be exposed to a variety of cultures and backgrounds, through a diverse student body representing different parts of the globe.

If you would like to discuss whether boarding school might be a good fit for your child, call us today, and our boarding school specialist, Betsy Metcalf, can guide you in the right direction and through the process.
